About HTML banners

Text links and google style html banners are great for generating traffic through “click-throughs”, but with out the branding effect. Webmasters don’t like to use HTML banners designed by someone else, because some of them use javaScript. Anyhow HTML banners are very effective. People learned to ignore graphic banners so text or HTML banners have more success than regular size gif banners. Another advantage is the file size regular standard banner is about 12 KB large so it can affect your site loading speed and also large graphic will use up your data transfer or bandwidth (The amount of data that can be transmitted in a fixed amount of time.) If your site has 10000 visitors a day you can save huge amount of bandwidth and of course money.

This DHTML banner works like search engine. There is some advanced javaScript programming so it’s quite a bit of code. One reason why banner like this is not good for banner exchange is the script in it; webmasters don’t want to put any new script into their website, because it can create errors on different types of browsers.
